Tryouts are scheduled for
SUNDAY, MAY 31
10 am - 5 pm
Candidates
should arrive 15-20 minutes early
Tryouts will be held in Detrick Gymnasium, located in Kaiser Hall. Parking is available
in the football parking lot (Arute Stadium) located on Kaiser Drive off of Ella Grasso Blvd.
Tryouts
will consist of tumbling, stunting, jumps, learning a dance and chant/sideline, as well as a brief
interview.
Tryouts are closed to non-participants.
CCSU Cheerleaders must have the following requirements
to tryout:
An acceptance letter (please provide a copy of letter for our records),
or must already be a full-time
matriculated student
Must be in
Good Academic Standing,
with a Minimum
Cummulative GPA of 2.0
CCSU Cheer skill requirements:
-Elite Stunt Technique
-Advanced jump technique and flexibility
-Advanced Motion and Dance technique
-Standing Back Handspring
-Round Off Back Handspring
-A Positive Attitude and drive to succeed
*Participants must present signed copies
of the 2015-2016 medical release form and application. A valid student I.D. must
also be presented.
*For the official tryout date, candidates
must have game-day appearance: females - hair should be worn half up/half down with a white
bow and makeup should be done tastefully.
Please wear plain black shorts, a plain white tank top and
cheerleading sneakers.
Remember
to bring a bottle of water and a snack/small lunch.
*Participants
will NOT be allowed to tryout while wearing jewelry*
