Tryouts will be held in CCSU's Kaiser Annex Bubble at 10am. Cheerleaders will be learning a dance and a sideline, performing tumbling and jumps, and showing stunt skills and technique. Ending time will depend on turnout. You may leave after you tryout is complete. All Full-time students are welcome to tryout.

The CCSU Cheerleading Team is comprised of talented and experienced cheerleaders from New England, several which are UCA and NECA instructors.

Competition team requirements (Black Squad)

-standing backhandspring

-advanced stunting and dancing skills

-level jumps (pike, toe-touch, double toe-touch)

The Competition team performs at all the home CCSU Football and Men's and Women's Basketball games. Besides cheering at games, the team competes in local collegiate competitions and the NCA College Nationals in Daytona, FL in April 2009.

The Game team performs at all home CCSU Football as well as Men's and Women's Basketball games.

Practices are usually held three days at week in either Detrick Gymnasium or Kaiser Annex Bubble. The team promotes school spirit on campus and within the New Britain community.

Please bring to tryouts:

1. Your student ID or proof of acceptance

2. Medical release form

3. A copy of your medical insurance card

4. Tryout application 

Make sure you have read the 2008-2009 Cheerleading Policies prior to tryouts.

Please wear a white tank top, black shirts and cheerleading sneakers. Look professional and presentable! Hair and make-up should be done. (Hair should be worn half up with a white 1.5" bow.)
